Kate Winslow Harrington
Hi, I’m Kate Winslow Harrington — a Brooklyn-based photographer, designer, and graduate of Syracuse’s School of Design and Ballymaloe Cookery School. I currently work with a New York restaurant group and freelance as a photographer, capturing food, interiors, portraits, and everyday moments on both digital and film.
Originally from San Francisco and raised in Los Angeles, I’ve lived and worked in Nantucket, London, and beyond — always guided by curiosity and a love for storytelling. My creative practice spans photography, graphic design, art direction, and culinary exploration. Whether I’m styling a plate, shooting on location, or building visual content for social media, I’m drawn to texture, light, and the way design connects people to place.
Inspired by live music, shared meals, and the rhythm of changing seasons, I aim to create honest, soulful work rooted in empathy, collaboration, and delight.
Natural design development
In the evolving worlds of design, photography, and food, creativity is shaped by constant movement—much like the tides. These disciplines are increasingly defined by authenticity, natural beauty, and an openness to change.
Photography has shifted toward capturing real moments: the glow of natural light, unfiltered emotion, and the imperfect charm of everyday life. It’s less about perfection, more about truth—telling stories through images that feel alive and honest.
In the kitchen, the same principles apply. Chefs are guided by seasonality, sustainability, and a connection to the land. Dishes become reflections of place and time, rooted in fresh ingredients and the stories they carry—from soil to plate.
At the heart of it all is growth. Designers, photographers, and cooks alike are tuned into the rhythms of nature and culture, creating work that’s grounded, soulful, and ever-evolving.

Blueprint for Growth: Development Strategy
My approach to development is all about soaking up my surroundings, diving into research, managing my time wisely, and weaving in influences from my other hobbies into my designs. Plus, you can bet I always keep some good tunes playing for that extra creative boost!
